I've got a shifty stick we got in Ethiopia when we lived there. It was to keep by the door in case anyone came to rob *shify* you. Told the kids we'd use it on them if they misbehaved. It weighs a lot and would really hurt! We could use that! Hehe

HA! Love it!
My mother always threatened us with the wooden spoon. We were terrified of her wooden spoon.

Okay I have three little ones myself and though I've never done it, I've pulled out the old, "I'm gonna whack you with a spoon" line more than a few times. With two boys, I think it's a given...lol

I used to carry a big purse so I could fit the wooden spoon in it. We were at an auto show one time and a man was being a kind of a smart alec and one of the kids cautioned him about it. LOL He looked at me kind of funny and I pulled out the spoon. He shut right up. LMFAO

Haha that's awesome!
My little portuguese grandmother used to threaten us kids with her wooden spoon too while yelling at us in portuguese. Had no clue what the hell she was saying half the time but we behaved back then LOL Thinking about it now it's pretty hilarious.
