What!? Seriously...hehehe...what? I can't be *coughs* sad?
you can be sad, but i'm sensing insincerity here!!
I actually think Genevieve Cortese played this episode brilliant. She was a very good psycho demon in the last scene.
I didn't mind the actress, she did do a great job in this epi, I didn't care for the character.
Laura, your avatar is amazing. *Sigh* I loved that little moment.
Funny, Ruby's confession was my only real quibble with an otherwise amazing episode. I wanted more fevered zealotry and less valley girl. Don't think I can blame GC completely for that, though, since EK was, literally, calling the shots.
While I give EK kudos from the writing end of things in this scene, I question some of his choices here as a director. He gets full marks for the heart beat behind the action (nice use of a continued theme when Sam uses his powers) and the aforementioned moment when the boys grab each other's jackets, but:
1. Sam's just been told he's been played by Hell's minions into freeing Lucifer and setting the apocalypse in motion - kind of a HUGE reveal - and where is he? In the background of the shot, half out of frame, while the camera lingers on Ruby. Boo.
2. Ruby tells Sam that Lucifer will be grateful, reward him beyond his wildest dreams for his role in setting him free and where's the camera? Across the freaking room so we can see the blood on the floor. I wanted a close-up of Sam's face, showing his reaction at the moment Ruby delivers that nugget. Grrr.
I miss Kim Manners and his extreme close-ups!
I'll admit I'm nitpicking, but you can't blame a girl for wanting more ECUs of Sam.
